Many medieval instruments have evolved into the instruments we use now.

Electric instruments tend to have a louder sound and fit in better to modern music.

Bowed instruments have a number of strings that make a sound when the bow pulls across the strings.

Woodwinds are played by the passing of air through the instrument.

Brass instruments are played by the buzzing of lips while blowing on the mouthpiece.
