What is a Paralegal?

  • A qualified person; either by education, training or experience.
  • Employed by an attorney, law office, corporation or governmental agency.
  • Individual with legal skills who works under the supervision of an attorney
  • Today, paralegals are most commonly known as legal assistants.

What do paralegals do?

  •  Daily tasks depends on the type of organization they work for.
  • There are several practices of law. Domestic, family and municipality law.
  • Organize interviews and conduct the meetings with clients.
  • Conduct legal research, maintain client files and attend legal proceedings.
  • Assist the attorney(s).
