The unity of Christ, the bridegroom, and the Church, his bride, reveals to us something of the intimate relationship God intends for a husband and wife
The relationship between Christ and the Church can be described as two becoming one flesh
Thus, Christian Marriage becomes an effective sign or sacrament of the covenant of Christ and the Church, and the faithfulness of the spouses to one another gives witness to God’s faithful love
