Chess Records, Chicago, U.S.A.

Chess Records was very important in the British Invasion. In the 1960's Chess records had artist like: Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, Bo Didlley, and etc. The Rolling Stones where one of the bands in the British Invasion. They built their music off of trying to sound like Muddy Waters. Without Chess Records rock and roll wouldn't sound the same.

Washington Coliseum

This was important to the British Invasion because it's where The Beatles preformed their first concert in the U.S. . It also had appearances from Bob Dylan and The Temptations but The Temptations concerts were banned in 1967 because of a riot that broke out. Now the arena is used as an indoor parking garage and is owned by Doug Jemal.

The Cavern Club

The Cavern Club is significant to the British Invasion because it is where bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Yard Birds, The Who, and The Beatles all performed. From 1961-1963 The Beatles performed here a total of 292 times! Even though it had some great times in 1989 the Club closed for 18 months due to economic problems. But in 1991 two friends Ill Heckle and Dave Jones reopened it. The Cavern today is still open, it was rebuilt to look exactly the same as the original with some of the original material. They still have live music there and music policy varies from '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s classic pop music to indie, rock and modern chart music.
