Relationship

  • Jiu Jitsu isn't about athletic ability
  • Jiu Jitsu gives you the ability to control an opponent of a larger stature.
  • Jiu Jitsu originated in Japan but was modified by Royce Gracie, the inventor of UFC, into a more painful and damaging moves.
  • Therefore we know it as Brizilian Jiu Jitsu

The Gi

  • The gi is the proper wear for Jiu Jitzu
  • Collar chokes are used by running your hand around the inside the neck of the gi and pulling, cutting off the carotid artery.

Origin

  • Jiu Jitzu originated in Brazil and was created for small, nonathletic -people.
  • It is a form of "ground game" for self defense and controlling the situation.
  • A lot of instructors teach students to imagine the skeleton of the opponent. Bones only move so far before breaking and in competitions you are aloud to break bones if the opponent won't tap.

  • practicing mixed martial arts improves your cardiovascular health, stress, and weight control.

Armbar

  • An armbar is a technique that hyper extends the elbow
  • the armbar can result in the destruction of the elbows articulating structure

Gogoplata

  • The opponents throat is trapped by the shin.
  • This cuts off the air from the trachea.

Foot Lock

  • a foot lock is a standard leg lock that dislocates the ankle.
  • when applied improperly or with excessive force foot locks can cause muscle, tendon, and ligament damage. They can also fracture or dislocate bones.
