WHY IS THE ROWN TREE SNAKE INVASIVE?

  • It was accidentally brought to Guam after WWII.
  • There was plenty of food for the snake to prey on.
  • There were many absences of native predators.
  • Killed many domestic birds and pets.
  • To stop them dogs have been trained to remove the snakes.

FUN FACTS

  • The brown tree snake's scientific name is Boiga irregularis
  • Native to papua new guinea, the Solomon islands, and north Australia
  • They are typically 4-5 feet long
  • They normally weigh about 5 lbs.
  • It is mildly venemous
