Summary Bud, not Buddy is a child in a home/orphanage. He is a 10 year old mischievous kid. His momma died when he was 6 and she was 26 when she died. Bud got a suitcase that has all of his important belongings. He was adopted and framed for beating a kid up. So he ran away after sleeping in a horrid shed. He went to a library and saw a librarian was gone and moved to Grand Rapids. That is also where his so called father lives. He try's to travel by foot to Grand Rapids and that's when a big change in his life comes. (Picture in the background is an orphanage.)
"You are Bud, not Buddy." I chose this passage because his mom was explaining that "a bud is a pretty flower just like you." I think that this is a very important part in the book.
I give this book a 5 star rating because I enjoyed reading and finding out what would happen next. I would recommend this book to any historical fiction lovers.
Dear bugs, Why didn't you hop out of the train with bud. He could've really used your help back there. You were with him since the beginning of the adventure. He could've used some help. Sincerely, Evan Mattox
