He is nicknamed Bugs because one day at the home, he got a cockroach stuck in his ear and had to have it surgically removed so the name " just sorta stuck"
The most exciting part of the story would probably be when the band members figured out that Bud was not lying and Angela was in fact his mother and Hermans daughter.
The conflict of the story was basically the whole book until the end. Everything went wrong with all of his foster families, he missed the train, Herman is his grandfather not like he'd hoped. But then at the end, he figured out that if he stayed there, then this was as close to home as it was going to get. And it did eventually become the place he wanted to be.
The person VS. Nature examples in this book are one, when Bud is walking to Grand Rapids. Two, when he had to sleep under a Christmas tree next to the library.
The part of the book with person VS. Society is when Bud is late to get breakfast and he wasn't going to get to eat. If he kept arguing, he probably would've gotten beaten by the man with the strap.
The part of the story that includes Person Vs. Self is the fact that because of Bud's fear of being jumped in his sleep, he keeps his jackknife open in his hands while he's sleeping.
