Hearth of Religion
-Buddha was created for the purpose of sharing his insight to help beings through the understanding of the four noble truths

Geographic Concentration
-Buddhism was founded in 6th century B.C.E in northeastern India by Siddharta Gautama. In the present day, Buddhism is mainly practiced in Southeast Asia.
- In the U.S there are approximately 1.2 followers of the religion.

Major Religious Beliefs
- reincarnation is one of the main beliefs in Buddhism.

-The judgment: "You are now before Yama, King of the Dead. In vain will you try deny or conceal the evil deeds you have done the mirror in which Yama seems to read your past is your own memory, and also his judgment is your own. It is you yourself who pronounce your own judgment"

- Dalai Lama: leader of Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism

Major Historical Events
- In 405 B.C.E the death of Buddha occurred. In 372 C.E Chinese monks brought Buddhism to Korea, expanding the places where buddhism is practiced. In 527 C.E Buddhism enters Korea. And so on, the religion quickly expanded in the amount of followers.


Buddhism Cultural landscape
-stupa: domed religious structure, used for prayer, usually found in Southeast Asia.

Holy Book
- The tripikata is the Buddhist holy book. It is written in Pali, an ancient Indian language. It was written in 1st century B.C.E.
