Christmas in Greece is celebrated on December 25
Christmas is celebrated in many parts of Greece. Athens and Crete are some of the main places.
Christmas is celebrated because it was the day Jesus Christ was born.
TRADITIONS
- Christmas shopping
- Children sing kalanda's(carols) in the streets and buy houses
- Instead of using trees they use a shallow wooden bowl with a wire type thing hanging out of it
- They also burn a fire for a twelve day period
Two main people are Jesus and Santa Claus. I think everyone would know about them.
Some of the symbols associated with it are a fish with the word IXØÚS which stand for JESUS,CHRIST,GOD,SON,AND SAVIOR.
Some of the songs they sing are mostly Christmas carols.
There is a lot of food in this holiday.
