Shinkansen's network (speed line) had the highest # of passengers in 2007 (353 million)
The trains have transported the most passengers than any other train network in the world.
Japan was the first country to build railway lines for high speed traveling.
The construction for the first part of the Shinkansen speed line started in April 1959.
Since 47 years ago, passengers have been taken over 7.1 billion trips on the bullet trains.
