PRESENTATION OUTLINE

I have been a victim of a bully. That is one of the reasons I have taken ownership of my actions because they need to STOP!
I feel that once you have been bullied you may start to become a bully but you have and will all ways have the power to stop. Just like I'm trying to do.

Bullying is not acceptable. We as humans need to put a stop to bullying altogether.

THE LEGAL DEFINITION
OF BULLYING
Repeated, persistent and aggressive behavior intended to cause fear, distress, or harm to another person's body, emotions, self-esteem or reputation.

THE SCHOOL HANDBOOK DEFINITION
OF HARASSMENT:
An incident or incidents of verbal, written, or physical conduct based on or motivated by a student or students family member's actual or perceived race, creed, color, national origin, marital status, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability that has the purpose or affect of adjectively and substantially undermining and detracting from or interfering with a students educational performance or access to school resources or creating an odjectively intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment.

THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN BULLYING AND HARASSMENT

  • Bullying is more than once.
  • Harassment is or can be only once.
  • Bullying can be physical
  • Harassment can be physical
  • Both can be verbal

These women are trying to stand up against harassment
And share their experiences to show other women they are not alone. They also are trying to inform other women on what to do when you are being harassed.
I think this video is helpful to other women because it is informative for them.

I have come to learn that retaliation and bullying is not the answer to any problem. I personally have figured out that if you want to do something that is a privilege but not a right, you need to be aware of what you are doing and how you are treating the people around you so that you can earn the privilege. For example, I love basketball but I wasn't slowing down in the moment and thinking about my actions so as a result I have lost basketball for this year and now I'm looking forward to playing next year. So for next year, I have learned that I have the power to walk away form any situation and stay out of trouble. Before I lost basketball I had been able to stay out of trouble for one month, so now I know that I have the ability to keep my head up and stay out of trouble so I can play a different sport and or possibly basketball next year.
