PRESENTATION OUTLINE

R is for Resistance
As Montag realizes that society is very corrupt, people, like Beatty, continue to tell him that everything is all right, and that he should just continue life as he had. Montag resists their attempts and this leads to further realization that he needs to do SOMETHING before all is lost. Without resisting, Montag's life would return to the normal, dull, censored life he lived before.

S is for Scorch
Montag, like a true fireman, scorches many things. First, he scorches his house once he concludes that there is nothing else he can do in that situation. Next, he sets afire Beatty, the Mechanical Hound, and two other firefighters because they discovered him and Faber's radio.

T is for Time
Knowing that it's only a matter of time before his opportunity to let the world know about books and knowledge is disappearing slowly, Montag is constantly racing against time. On the run from police and the Mechanical Hound, Montag is struggling to end the obvious censorship in society. Montag needs to get his message out before his time runs out.

U is for Universal
Though Montag's small acts of rebellion are successful, they won't get the message out to the people. In order to get the world to know the truth of their censored lives, Montag needs to do something big to get the message out to the whole world about these wrong acts. Whether or not they respond, at least he tried.

V is for Vengeance
One of the true meanings behind Montag's rebellious acts is because of Clarisse. For society killing off her, he wants her views to be heard. He wants society to pay for their cruel ways by changing their culture.

W is for Writing
As illustrated in Fahrenheit 451, writing has a huge power over people. People of this society fear books because writing can have power over your emotions and actions. That's why owning a book is considered a threat because people just want to be happy.

X is for X-Ray
Granger mentions how when they get to the newly born city, he wants to build a mirror factory. He wants to build this because he wants people to constantly look within/at themselves, so that the past doesn't happen again. Looking within yourself in reality is similar to an x-Ray, when you observe what is within you.

Y is for Yird
The part of Fahrenheit, Burning Bright, is all about Montag yirding, or burying his old life and starting over again. He burns his house and his boss to get rid of his old life. He then begins with his new life of rebelling against society.

Z is for Zombie
Though people in Montag's society aren't actually zombies, they sure act like it. All people do is watch T.V. and do nothing, gaping at the screen making weird noises. If they were brought around current society they would most likely do nothing other than stare at nothing and walk funny like a zombie.
