CAUSE OF CHILD ABUSE

• Stress, tiredness or lack of parenting skills or family support make the pressure of caring for a child overwhelming,and can cause abuse.

SIGNS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE

• Brusing,welts, and burns that can't be explained
• Absence of hair due to vigorous hair pulling
• Withdrawn, fearful or extreme behavior

SIGNS OF POSSIBLE NEGLECT

• Changes in behavior or school performace
• Begs or steals food or money
• Is frequently absent from school
• Is consistently dirty and has severe body odor

EFFECTS FROM CHILD ABUSE

• Causes the child to have anxiety, depression, and low self esteem
• Could cause trouble sleeping, self harm, or an eating disorder
