CADDOS

Their Culture
The Caddos lived in the gulf coast
The caddo cultural pattern developed among groups occupying conjoining parts of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas from a.d 700 to 1000

When were the here?Caddos were in Texas from 1500-1845

Food
Most of the spice and other flavoring a where brought by the Europeans later in time favorable conditions for fresh new grass, they could attract deer or other game animal to a particular spot in the woods

Shelter
For hundreds of years, the Caddo Indians built huge dome-shaped house without using modern equipment
(this a traditional grass hut)

Clothing
The men generally wear breechcloths and occasionally leather leggings for protection of their legs they traditionally had Mohawk haircuts or shave off all their hair
Women wore wraparound skirts with poncho tops made of deerskin they usually left their hair down but on special occasions it was braided

Hunting
They generally hunted buffalo, deer, rabbits, etc. The common weapon was The atlatl the modern Bowen arrow has a similar technique to it

Recreation
The Caddo lake was a lake where Caddos built a dam It was natural lake in Texas until it was damaged

Environment
This part of Texas is the western end of a pine forest that goes across the South into the East

Interesting facts
They had farming tools such as hoes and digging sticks
The Kadohadache Caddo were probably a paramount chiefdom with one big chief over many subchiefs
The Caddo formed confederations to protect and defend themselves from other tribes
