  • If something is unequal, it is not equal
  • If you are unprepared, you are not prepared.
  • Being unable to do something means you are not able to do it.

Inter:between

Interstellar, International, Interject

Examples:

  • International agreements are between nations
  • Interstellar space travel is travel between galaxies.
  • To Interject an opinion, is to insert your ideas in between others.

Semi:half

Semicircle, Semiformal, Semiannual

Examples:

  • A Semicircle is a half circle
  • A Semiformal is a partially formal event.

dis:away

distract, distorted, dismiss

Examples:

  • To distort something is to take away from its original format.
  • To distract someone is to take attention away.

sym:together

Symphony, Symbiotic, Sympathy

Examples

  • A Symphony is the sound of many instruments coming together.
  • To have Sympathy is when we come together to express support for someone else.
