  • white odourless, tasteless powder or crystal
  • releases Carbon Dioxide while heating
  • insoluble in water
  • dissolves in many acids to form Calcium salts

antacid

  • used to treat stomach acid
  • heartburn, upset stomach
  • lowering the amount of acid in the stomach
  • too much consumption can be harmful

glazing

  • used in ceramics
  • produces a matt effect
  • increase hardness and durability
