DOMAIN: EUKARYA

  • The Domain Eukarya is a domain of organisms with cells that have nuclei.
  • Some of these animals include: Giraffes, Red Pandas, Vultures, and Camels.

CAMEL FUN FACTS

  • Camels can go long periods without food or water
  • Camels are known to carry more than 500 pounds on their backs
  • Also Camels can be as tall as 5.9 to 7.5 feet

KINGDOM: ANIMALIA

  • Multicellular organisms, and lack cell walls
  • Cannot perform photosynthesis
  • Some of these animals include: Bunny, Hippo, and Owl

CAMEL FUN FACTS

  • Many people ride on their humps
  • They have 2-4 toes on each foot
  • Camels can spit long distances as far as 37 meters

PHYLUM: CHORDATA

  • Deuterostrome animals possessing a notochord
  • Also a hollow dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slits
  • And an endostyle, and a post anal tail for some periods of its life
  • Some of these animals include: Tree Frog, Ape, Chipmunk

  • Warm blooded, possesses hair
  • Endothermic four chambered heart
  • Some of these animals include: Bear, Chimp, Pig

ORDER: ARTIODACTYLA

  • Two or four usually hoofed toes on each foot
  • Highly developed stomachs, and flexible feet
  • Some of these animals include: Hippo, Goat, and Cow

FAMILY: CAMELIDAE

  • There are two types of animals in this family, two camels
  • The two camels include: The Dromedary, and the Bactrian camels
  • These animals are called camelids, and also include llamas

GENUS: CAMELUS

  • These are large animals with long slender necks
  • Also long legs and are strictly herbivorous
  • The animals in this genus only consist of camels

SPECIES: DROMEDARIUS

  • Dromedarius camels have one hump on their back
  • And their humps are mainly used to store fat
  • The only animal in this species group is the dromedary camel
