Why is it an ethical issue?

Capital punishment is an ethical issue because of the idea of killing a person. Some people think of it as revenge where others believe that it is right and just.also because of the battle between religious beliefs, personal beliefs/feelings and government/society's view

Stake holders are anyone who is involved in the issue. Whether they are involved in it by pure interest or concern. The stakeholders for capital punishment are

WHAT ARE THE ARGUMENTS FOR CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!?

• Takes the criminals of the street therfore keeping society safe
• Eliminates the chance of reofending
• Tax payers font have to pay to keep the criminal in jail
• Gives the victims families closure
• Can act as a deterent, deters others form committing the dame crime

• Courts/ legal system/ government
• Church (old testament)
• Victims family
• Some members of society
• Police

ARGUMENTS AGAINST CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!!

• If the accused did not commit the crime or mentally unstable people
• Cost more than keeping them alive
• Doesnt alow them to suffer
• Eye for an eye
• Chruch (new testament)

• In the bible there are two veiw points on capital punidhment!
• Old testament supports the view (eye for an eye)
• New testament doesnt agree with capital punishment (forgivness)
• These views are based on the catholic authorites from the Pope, vatican, biblical references
• The modern day catholic church does not support capital punishment

OTHER RELIGIONS VIEW ON CAPITAL PUNISHMENT!

• Other religons have different views on capital punishment
• For example, islam and judaism are for capital punishment
• Buddhism is against capital punishment!
• Differemt areas of the world also have different beliefs based on there culture

THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENTS VIEW ON CAPITAL PUNISHMNET IS THAT IT IS WRONG THIS IS DREAN IPON FRO. THE LEADING RELIGION IN AUSTRALIA WHICH IS CATHOLICISM . ONCE THE CAPITAL PUINSHMNET LAW WAS ABOLISHED IT WAS REPLACED WITH THE PUNISHMNET IF LIFE IN PRISONMENT
