CAPITALS AND PROPER NOUNS

Use capital letters for the NAMES of people, places, planets, days of the week, titles, months, holidays, buildings, etc.

Do not use a capital letter for a common noun.

EXAMPLES

• The next lake the people visited was Lake Michigan.
• It was such a grand day when we visited the Grand Canyon.
• My favorite holiday is Christmas!
• I have 11 uncles and I recently saw Uncle Bruce.
• On Sunday, I like to watch the Bears play.
