Caracalla was born April 4th, 188 AD, as the oldest son of Septimius Severus.
He would eventually earn the reputation of becoming one of the most notorious and unpleasant emperors because of his massacres and prosecutions he authorized and instigated throughout the ancient empire.
Caracalla was known for his "joint ruling." He would have these joint rulings with either his father Septimius Severus, or with his younger brother, Publius Serverus.
With these joint rulings he would experience his greatest events as emperor.
He would also realize his greatest opposers, one of which his own brother.
Caracalla's first joint ruling was with his father.
Caracalla and his father joint ruled from 198 AD, until 211 AD; for a total of thirteen years.
Caracalla would primarily earn his reputation after his fathers death in 211 AD, where he would engage in another joint ruling; this time with his brother Publius.
Publius would eventually become his greatest enemy, and opposer.
He would be credited defeat in war against Alamanni.
He would go down as a failed ruler, with military defeat, unjust ruling, false persecutions, failed movements for the people, a terrible man for his killings, massacres, and persecutions he enacted on, and "the common enemy of mankind."
