PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Introduction: Carcassonne is a fortified war base from 100 B.C.
Carcassonne is a fortified city that is still standing. This city was also inhabited during the Neolithic Revolution. Nowadays, the walls are for decoration. This place is now a popular place for tourism.
The Carcassonne wall was built to protect the city of Carcassonne from invaders during the 30 Years' War. This war was raging between 1618-1648.
The wall's and defenses lost its usability when the "Treaty of Pyrenees" was signed. This treaty says that all cities north of Pyrenees "A range of moutons" would belong to France, but this was not properly settled until the Treaty of Bayonne was signed in 1856.
As the castle and walls were fortified, the walls gained more special defenses, such as archer towers. these towers are for archers to stand on, and these archers sniped enemies from above.
The Carcassonne wall was needed for protection during the 30 Years' War, but is no longer needed for modern times. Modern machines and technologies can pass or destroy the wall, leaving it useless to the city. It is more used for decoration to show off the city rather than to protect it.
This can be connected to the Ishtar Gate. This is because both walls could be used as protection, and for decoration.(The Carcassonne wall is decoration now, while the Ishtar Gate was decoration from before.) It can also be connected because they are both standing. (The Ishtar Gate has only its foundations standing.)
The Carcassonne wall is wonder to the city of Carcassonne, France. We hoped you enjoyed this haiku deck all about it.
