THE CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM MAIN JOB IS TO PUMP
BLOOD CONTAINING OXYGEN TO THE LUNGS AND THROUGH THE BOBY

The major organs in the Cardiovascular system are the heart, vains, and attires.

THE HEART

  • The heart pumps blood through your body
  • The heart has two chambers
  • The left side of the of the heart blood out of body
  • The right side of the heart receives blood from the body and delivers it to the lung

Veins
Are blood vessels that carry blood toward the heart

Arteries
Blood vessels that carry away from heart toward the lungs then to the body tissue.

Red Blood Cells
Carry oxygen through the body and remove carbon dioxide for your body to your lungs to be removed as you exhale.

White blood cells
Travel through your body and destroy harmful bacteria. Some white blood cells have even developed antibodies against bacteria and viruses.

  • Stroke
  • Trauma
  • Heart attack
  • High cholesterol

Heart disease
is cause when there is plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries. As the plaque builds up the arteries narrow making it more difficult for blood to flow and creating a risk for heart attack or stroke.

Stroke
occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts. When that happens, part of the brain cannot get the blood it needs, so it and brain cells die.

Trauma
is caused from a blunt object or a knife wound and if not treated quickly it can lead to serious medical problems.

Heart attack
occurs when blood flow to a part of your heart is blocked for a long enough time that part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies.

High cholesterol
Can cause plaque to form between layers of artery walls, making it harder for your heart to circulate blood. Plaque can break open and cause blood clots. If a clot blocks an artery that feeds the brain, it causes a stroke. If it blocks an artery that feeds the heart, it causes a heart attack.

WAYS TO KEEP YOUR SYSTEM RUNNING SMOOTHLY

  • Exrise regularly
  • Eat healthy
  • Don't smoke or do drugs
