150 semester credits from college or university to take CPA exam.
Minimum of a bachelors degree.
You have to have a certain number of business and accounting credits.
There are multiple positions for this such as staff auditor, tax staff, senior auditor, or a management services.

Duties on the job would be bookkeeping, taxes, financial planning, government audits
The national average salary for a CPA accountant is 43,316, and local average is 52,683

There are on average 629 jobs opening per year in Michigan for Accountants/ CPA accountant.
And advancements in this area would be with a bachelors degree you can move into management accounting.
Many accountants with a degree and experience move into financing positions.

There is tons of technological advancements with new programs such as Microsoft excel, extranet/intranet, and cloud computing. This is helping accountants get the job done faster and better.
There is going to be long nights, hard numbers to crunch, so it takes resilience. I would also say it takes hard work, and dedication to do the best job you can do.
There are plenty of companies that will hire a CPA accountant such as in Michigan, Mclaren health care, Henry ford health system, Kellogg, and imagesoft, inc.
