Be organized. Vs. 11 there is a list
Have boundaries - vs 11
there is a process,
we are as generous as possible......
But sometimes the answer is no
Resources are limited - it is a burden on the church takes on. vs 16
Character matters. This is a list of widows that the church chooses to support regularly. This is not the outreach part, emergency funding part of benevolence. vs. 9-10 but in terms of priority, real widows in the church and then those outside.....
So what are the important considerations as we care for widows among us.....
Have boundaries - vs 11
there is a process,
we are as generous as possible......
But sometimes the answer is no
Resources are limited - it is a burden on the church takes on. vs 16
Character matters. This is a list of widows that the church chooses to support regularly. This is not the outreach part, emergency funding part of benevolence. vs. 9-10 but in terms of priority, real widows in the church and then those outside.....
So what are the important considerations as we care for widows among us.....
Be Respectful
To everyone
First - do not humiliate, verbally beat up those who are older.....older men described in terms as men who fill the position of overseer....treat them as such even if they are not.....
Rather encourage. Pres imp. Come alongside and help, hold up etc.....
The same with younger men,
Young women the same.......
But here with purity. Avoiding sexual sin or any kind of immorality......protect like you would your sister
In other words treat everyone with respect.

How to show respect
- Be gentle with older men
- Encourage as your father
- Younger men as brothers
- Older women as mother
- Younger women as sisters
- With complete purity
Opposite of brusque, impatient
literally....do not strike at
but be gentle and kind

Care for Widows
Those over Sixty
Give a place of honor ......pres imperative keep on....
Those who are.really widows
Children care for your parents and grandparents....you are their first line of defense against poverty and neglect
God
Piety at home - children caring for parents with God' will in mind, God's provision is first through family
Repay - give back in fulfillment of an expectation that God has ......
That believers plan, think through is word behind provide for....acts ungrateful lay much like unbelievers
Good a qualitative word......a positive helpful, edifying thing to do
Acceptable - something God greets with open arms....

- Friendly
- Servant mindset
- Helpful
- Good to have around

- Talk too much
- Encourage to remarry
- Live honorable life in God
- Help widows in her own family

Easily distracted and sometimes in their grief will over commit at first.....to staying single

- Help widows in real need
- Have a process
- Make a list/have a plan
- Work the plan
- Watch God bless what pleases Him

Start a gadget ministry those folks who are older....they have lived long enough to know that if the gadget doesn't work the sun will still come up.....but life is a little easier and more fun when they do.....
