BACKROUND
Born December 6, 1478 Died Feb. 2, 1529
At 16 he began studying In Milan, his information would later inform his future writings.
Son of a very noble family.
The school he studied in was humanist school of Giorgio Merula and Demetrius Chalcondyles
He also studied in a court. the court of Ludovico Sforza also in Milan

ACCOMOPLISHMENTS
In 1499 his father died and he left his studied to take his fathers place as head of the noble family
He wrote many letters to princes about his works with Cosmo gonzaga
Became an ambassador or the duke or urbino
Close friend Raphael gratefully painted a famous portrait of Castiglione, now at the Louvre.

IMPACT
He was a prominent renaissance writer
'The book of courier' was his best writing. It impacted courier expectations and what a wife needed to do to help her husband.
He defined what we consider a renaissance man or woman today.
The book also spread Italian humanism through Europe
He himself was an influence to other famous writers
