CELL ANALOGIES

BY: LUCY RAND

I AM COMPARING A CELL TO A HOUSE

THE NUCLEUS

The nucleus is like the parents of the house. They control everything.

THE CELL WALL

The cell wall of a house is the house siding. It is stiff and sturdy and protects the rest of the home.

THE CELL MEMBRANE

The cell membrane of a house is the door. It regulates who and what goes in and out of the house.

THE CYTOPLASM

The cytoplasm of a house is the floor. It holds the rugs, furniture, and other things in the house.

MITOCHONDRIA

The mitochondria of a house is a furnace. It releases energy around the house/cell.

THE RIBOSOMES

The ribosomes make protein so in a house a ribosome would be the cook of the family that makes tofu and meat.

THE CHLOROPLASTS

The chloroplasts make sugar so they are like the baker in your family that makes you sugary treats.
