CELL ANALOGY PROJECT

CONSTRUCTION SITE(ANIMAL CELL) BY: KALEB FRAMES

CELL/PLASMA MEMBRANE

  • A protective barrier for the cell that allows substances in and out of the cell.
  • This is like a fence that let's construction workers in and pedestrians out.

NUCLEUS

  • Directs growth, metabolism, and the transmission of genetic characters of the cell.
  • This is like the construction manager, it directs and controls what goes on.

MITOCHONDRIA

  • Convert the chemical energy in food into compounds that are easier for the cell to use.
  • This is like the generator, it gives energy to equipment like the crane.

CHROMATIN

  • Holds the genetic information.
  • This is like the blueprints, they make sure the structure is built correct.

GOLGI APPARATUS

  • Modifies, sorts, and packages proteins for storage in the cell.
  • This is like a crane, it picks up materials and pits them in their spot in the structure.

LYSOSOMES

  • Breaks down lipids and proteins into smaller parts that can go to other parts of the cell.
  • This is like a saw, it saws things so they can be put in other parts of the structure.
