PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CELL ANALOGY TO A TOWN

BY TESS BIRMINGHAM

NUCLEUS=TOWN COUNCIL

The Nucleus is like the town center because they are the command centers of the foundation. The nucleus also stores hereditary like the town council stores information files.

MITOCHONDRIA=POWER PLANTS

The mitochondria is like a power plant because they store energy for the town/cell to use.

CYTOPLASM=ROADS

The cytoplasm is like a road because they are responsible for helping to move materials/people around the town/cell.

Ribosomes=machines in a factory

The ribosome is like a factory machine because they are responsible for assembling and organizing the proteins of a cell or town.

CELL MEMBRANE=TOWN BOUNDARIES

The cell membrane are like the borders of a town because they both surround and show the independence of the foundation.

GOLGI BODY=DELIVERY CARS

The Golgi body is like the delivery cars of a business because they are responsible for manufacturing and shipping certain products. For the Golgi body that is specifically products from the endoplasmic reticulum.

LYSOSOME=GARBAGE TRUCK

A lysosomes is similar to a garbage truck because both recycle material. Specifically the lysosomes recycles cell organic material. It also digests macro minerals (giant minerals).

SMOOTH ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM=LOADING DOCK

The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is like a loading dock because they both are responsible for launching products to various destinations.

ROUGH ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM=FACTORY

The rough endoplasmic reticulum is like a town factory because they both manufacture certain products. For the rough endoplasmic reticulum it specifically make membranes and secretory proteins.
