3.
WHAT IS THE CELL THEORY?
All life forms are made from one or more cells.
Cells only are created through already known cells.
The cell is the smallest form of life.
4.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PROKARYOTIC & EUKARYOTIC
Eukaryotic Cells are larger than Prokaryotic Cells.
This is because they have a complicated internal structure.
5.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCES ABOUT PLANT AND ANIMAL CELLS?
Plant cells have a large central vacuole.
Animal cells have small fluid filled sacs called vesicles.
Plant cells in stems and leaves have chloroplasts in their cytoplasm.
Plant cells have a cellulose cell wall around the cell membrane.
6.
CELL MEMBRANE
Function: Keeps unwanted nutrients out and wanted nutrients in.
Cell membranes are found in both animal and plant cells.
7.
ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM
Function: Stores proteins.
ER is found in both animal and plant cells.
8.
GOLGI APPARATUS (GOLGI BODY)
Function: Packages and processes macromolecules.
Golgi Apparatus is found in animal and plant cells.
9.
RIBOSOMES
Function: Builds proteins of the cells.
Ribosomes are found in plant and animal cells.
10.
MITOCHONDRIA
Function: Cellular respiration.
Mitochondria is found in plant and animal cells.
11.
NUCLEUS
Function: Storing genetic material.
They're found in both plant and animal cells.
12.
NUCLEOLUS
Function: Producing ribosomes.
They're found in both animal and plant cells.
13.
VACUOLE
Function: stores food and water.
They're found in both plant and animal cells.
14.
LYSOSOMES
Function: Digest the worn-out organelles.
They're found in both animal and plant cells.
15.
CHROMOSOMES(DNA)
Function: Carries the genes in the nucleous.
They're found in both plant and animal cells.
16.
CELL WALL
Function: Provides as a shield around plant cells.
They are only found in plant cells.
17.
CHLOROPLAST
Function: Makes sugars and starches
They're only found in plant cells.
