PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CELL ENERGY PROJECT

PHOTOSYNTHESIS

  • Photosynthesis captures energy from the sun to make food for itself
  • It takes place in the chloroplast of a plant cell
  • The reactants are light energy, carbon dioxide and water
  • The products are glucose and oxygen the plants use the sugar for food

CELLULAR RESPIRATION

  • Cellular respiration is the process when a cell obtains energy from glucose
  • Cellular respiration takes place in the mitochondria in both types of cells
  • The reactants are glucose and oxygen animals get glucose from the food they eat and plants get it from photosynthesis
  • The products are water, carbon dioxide and energy

FERMENTATION

  • Is a energy releasing process that doesn't require energy
  • Takes place in the cytoplasm in both types of cells
  • The only reactant is glucose which comes from food.
  • The products are lactic acid, carbon dioxide, alcohol and a small amount of energy
  • Lactic acid and alcohol are both waste products that you don't need

CELLULAR RESPIRATION AND PHOTOSYNTHESIS IN A ENERGY CYCLE

  • They both work together in the mitochondria
  • Together both processes form a cycle that keeps the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide fairly constant in earths atmosphere

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

  • All processes meek some kind of waste
  • They all make some kind of energy
  • Photosynthesis only occurs in plants
  • Photosynthesis makes energy from the sun the others do not
  • Not as much energy comes out of fermentation then all the others

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES PART 2

  • They all use glucose in the process
