2.
A CELL IS...
The smallest unit of an organism
All living things are made up of cells
Its microscopic
Consists of cytoplasm, nucleus, and a membrane
Either eukaryotic or prokaryotic.

3.
EUKARYOTIC VS. PROKARYOTIC
Eukaryotic- contains a nucleus and other structures in the cell.
Prokaryotic- lacks a membrane, mitochondria, etc.
Prokaryotic cells don't have membrane bound organelles.
4.
CELLULAR RESPIRATION
Set of metabolic processes
Convets biochemical energy into ATPs.
Releases waste products

5.
UNICELLULAR & MULTICELLULAR
Unicellular is a single celled organism
Multicellular is an organism with many cells
In a unicellular organism, one cell does all processes.
In a multicellular organism, many cells do many processes.

ORGANELLES
Subunit within a cell
Individual organelles are separately enclosed

9.
PROCESSES OF LIFE
Movement- the ability to move to survive.
Nutrition- living things take in materials for growth.
Growth- living things increase in size and number.
Reproduction- living things produce new living things.

10.
PROCESSES OF LIFE CONT...
Excretion- living things remove wast products.
Transport- Absorption and Circulation
Synthesis- smaller organisms combined chemically.
Respiration- breaking down nutrientso give off chemical energy.
Regulation- a living thing controls and coordinates its activities.
11.
PLANT CELLS
Plant cells are eukaryotic
Can digest proteins and organelles

CHLOROPLAST
Only in green plant cells
A plastid that contains chlorophyll
Photosynthesis takes place.

13.
PHOTOSYNTHESIS
Converts solar energy into chemical energy
Chemical energy is used to fuel activities performed by the organism.
