CELL PROJECT

PLANT CELL AMUSEMENT PARK----IT'S NOT JUST AN AMUSEMENT PARK...IT'S PLANT-ASTIC!!

NUCLEUS CONTROL

  • The Nucleus Control runs everything in the park.
  • Find the manager here.
  • Restricted to employees only unless seeking help
  • Located on the North Wing.
The nucleus is the "control center" of the plant because it acts as the "brain" of the cell. Just like a plant cell or any kind of eukaryotic cell, the Nucleus Control runs everything in the park.

CELL WALL GATES

  • These large gates are designed to protect the park from anyone who might want to vandalize it.
  • Open to anyone from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Closed to anyone from 11:01 PM to 5:59 AM.
The cell wall of a plant cell is designed to be tough and durable, therefore protecting the vulnerable cell inside. Just like a plant cell, the Cell Wall Gates protect the park.

MEMBRANE ENTRANCES

  • Get your bags scanned here by security guards. Nobody wants their vacation ruined by a bomb.
  • After passing the scanning, show another security guard your ticket. He or she will scan it to see if it is real, and if it is, you may pass.
  • Remind yourself: Ticket = entry
  • But... No ticket = getting kicked out of the park by the seat of your pants.
In a plant cell or any other eukaryotic cell, the cell membrane supervises what gets in the cell and what doesn't, as an extra layer of protection after the wall. The Membrane Entrances resemble the cell membrane because it only allows people who have been thoroughly scanned for any threats. It also only allows in people who have a ticket-a real one.

GOLGI BODY ROLLER COASTERS

  • Want some thrills?
  • Well, stop by the Golgi Body Roller coasters!
  • Pack yourself into a enclosed roller coaster cart and get sent out through the Plant Cell Amusement Park in a rip-roaring coaster ride!
  • Golgi Body roller coasters are located in the north-eastern section of the park.
  • Must be at least 4 and a half feet to have a single-seater cart. Anybody under height requirement must have a parent or guardian to ride with. Minimum height is four feet.
The Golgi Body Roller Coasters are similar to the Golgi Bodies in a plant cell because the Golgi Body is responsible for packaging protein and sending it out into the cell. The Golgi Body Roller Coasters pack in "people-teins" and send them out into the Plant Cell Amusement Park on a exciting ride, just like a Golgi Body in a plant cell.

VACUOLE STORAGE HOUSE

  • Overloaded with items and need to give your back a break?
  • Stop by the Vacuole Storage House!
  • You can store anything in there, from heavy backpacks to food and water.
  • Located in the middle of the park. Plant Cell Amusement Park is irresponsible for any damage done to your items or anything stolen.
The Vacuole Storage House is similar to a plant cell's vacuole because it STORES items in it, just as a plant cell vacuole stores water and other nutrients such as food in it.

RIBOSOME'S HEALTHY SNACK BAR

  • Hungry?
  • Stop by Ribosome's Healthy Snack Bar for a protein-packed snack!
  • Ribosome's Healthy Snack Bars are located all over the park for your convenience. Most are located near the Endoplasmic Reticulum Maze. Please read the ingredients list for any allergies. Plant Cell Amusement Park is not responsible for any allergic reactions.
Ribosome's Healthy Snack Bar is similar to the ribosomes in a plant cell in many ways. First of all, Ribosome's Healthy Snack Bar sells PROTEIN-PACKED snacks, which is similar to the ribosome's job of making proteins.

MITOCHONDRIA'S ENERGY STATIONS

  • Tired or hungry? Need to charge your phone?
  • Come over here to Mitochondria's Energy Station!
  • Here, you can take a break or eat some food that gives you plenty of energy!
  • You can also charge your phone here for free!
  • Located in multiple areas around the park.
  • Also powers the whole park. The "DO NOT ENTER" room is restricted to employees ONLY.
In a plant cell, mitochondria provide energy for the plant. Just like a mitochondria Mitochondria's Energy Stations provides energy for the whole park. It also "charges people up", as the description says.

ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM MAZE

  • Hey, kids! Like mazes?
  • If so, come on down to the Endoplasmic Reticulum Maze!
  • Navigate your way through the networks of tunnels and passageways!
  • Try to find the other end of the maze to get out!
  • Located in the South Wing of the park.
Both Endoplasmic Reticulum on a plant cell are responsible for transporting cell nutrients to the Golgi Body. Just like in a plant cell, the Endoplasmic Reticulum Maze "transports" visitors through the maze out into the park.

PLASTID'S GIFT SHOP

  • This amazing store stores many nifty little items that you can buy to remember your trip forever!
  • In here, you can buy some snacks and/or gifts for the little ones, or even yourself!
  • Located at the end of the Plant Cell Amusement Park, in the East Wing.
Plastids in a plant cell function as little storage areas for nutrients from the cell, mostly starch. Plastid's Gift Shop is similar to the plastid in a plant cell because it STORES gifts and food.
