• Hooke was the first person to identify and name cells
• Leeuwenhoek made better lenses to observe cells in greter detail
• Schleiden discovered that all plants are made of cells
• Schwann went more broad and said all living things are made of cells
• Virchow prposed that all cells come from other cells

Prokaryotic cells
These cells do not have a nucleus or membrane bound organelles, instead the DNA is suspended in cytoplasm. All of these types of cells are single called membranes

EUKARTOTIC CELLS
Have a nucleus and other membrane bound organelles. These cells can be multi or single cell organisms
