WHAT DOES THIS ORGANELLE DO?

  • Provides protection and support
  • It keeps all the other organelles inside
  • Allows nutrients and oxygen to enter
  • Allows waste to flow out
  • Gives the plant cell its shape

OTHER FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW

  • Only plant cells have a cell wall
  • Major part in the cells framework
  • It is mostly made out of cellulose (makes it strong)
  • It is multilayered and has three sections (just like cake!)
  • Cell wall Layers: middle lamella, primary cell wall, and secondary
  • Cake Layers: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, ect

WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT IT?!

  • Without the cell wall the plant wouldn't have a chance of surviving
  • Just like without superman all of the town will be full of criminals (bacteria)
  • The organelles might escape without a cell wall
  • The cell wall keeps the bacteria out

WHY DO WE NEED IT?

  • The plants will have no structure without the cell wall
  • The wouldn't be able to handle tugor pressure
  • Keeps everything inside the cell
