RF Waves

First of all, let's find out what waves the cellphone waves use. Cellphones usually use a wave called an RF wave, which is also called as a Radio Frequency wave. The RF wave is classified as a Radio Wave in the electromagnetic spectrum.

Short History

See the guy back there? Well, he is called Heinrich Hertz, who is a German physicist. He applied Maxwell's theories and proved the existence of Radio Waves, and that RF waves don't require a medium to create a wave.

The frequency of RF waves ranges from 3KHz to 300GHz. As you can see in the picture, the Cell Phone waves are from the radio waves, which have a lower frequency than most of the other waves, but its wavelength is longer than others.

Swift, Strong

The RF wave is well-known as its swiftness and its durability, since it is a electromagnetic wave, and an electromagnetic wave travels at a speed of light. Using this characteristic, people are using this to communicate in different places in the world.

Sending Info.

So how are the Cellphone Waves used? Cellphone waves are usually used for sending information. This contains of texting, calling, SMS, Facebooking, and etc.

iPhones to Antennas

So, where are RF waves used? Obviously, they are used in cellphones, because you know, "Cellphone" waves. But they are also used in antennas, radios, and any other type of electronic devices that deal with worldwide communication.

Too much, ouch

Of course, there are negative characteristics about RF waves. Due to its radiation, if you are exposed too much to radio waves, the radiation is absorbed to the tissue, which causes headaches, burns, and if too much, brain and skin cancer.

IT & GDP

So what are the economic implications? Well, since Cellphone waves deal with information, there has been a enormous development from the last 20 years just because of IT. Just from IT, the annual GDP income of US has increased to 2 trillion.

Closer World

What are its social impacts? Well, socially, the world has become smaller. Meaning, the world interacts and communicates more than before, mainly because of RF waves. We could call, text, and SMS different parts of the world, thanks to Cellphone Waves
