Who were the celts?

From 750 BC to 12 BC, the celts were the most powerful people in central and Northern Europe.
"Celt" comes from the Greek word Keltoi, which means barbarians.

THE END OF THE CELTICS REIGN IN EUROPE

Julius Caesar pushes his army into Gaul in 58 BC and conquers almost all of Gaul. He was assisted by many Gallic clans.

• Their history was preserved by oral traditions
• The original celtic language is no longer used
• Irish and Scottish celtics were frim the same tribes

CELTIC RELIGION

Druids and Druidesses are the professional class in celtic society. They formed today's current priests, teachers, philosophers and many more.

The Celts didn't form a single religious or political unity. They were spread out between the different tribes. There were 374 different celtic deities. They did believe in the afterlife.
