CENTAURUS

Centaurs were mythical beast, half man, half horse.

CHIRON

• The constellation shows Chrion.
• Chiron was born of different parents than the other centarus
• His father was Cronus and his mother was a sea nymph Philyra., who was not his wife.
• Surprised by his wife, while having sex, Cronus turned into a horse and left Philyra to bear Chiron.

CHIRON

• Chiron grew to be a skilled at hunting.
• His cave became an academy for young princes in search for good education.
• He was very trusted by the gods,so much that he became the foster father of Jason and Achilles.
• His best student was Asclepius, son of Apollo.

CHIRON

• Chiron suffered a tragic death.
• Pholus was entertained to dinner and offered wine out of the centaurs common room, by Hercules.
• We'll once the centaurs noticed that their wine was drunk by Hercules, the centaurs then raided Hercules. Hercules protected himself with arrows.
• . Some of the centaurs took refuge with Chiron, the arrows that Hercules shot reached Chiron.
• One of the arrows then struck Chiron, he was doomed because non of his medicines were able to cure the hydra's poison.
