CVHS was originally built in the valley to teach students in an area with a growing population due to the Northern Pacific Railroad laid tracks

CVHS History

When the Northern Pacific Railroad was laid down the a school was needed to teach students in a growing population in the Spokane valley during the 1880s. The Central Valley School District #356 was later formed on July 1945.
The CVHS was originally built in the location of the current Greenacres middle school.

CVHS has a variety of interesting and welcoming clubs and activities for all of the students attending the school

Washington Drug Free Youth
members pledge to be drug free and prove it by submitting voluntary random drug tests throughout their membership. WDFY members receive a membership card for special incentives including merchant discounts and activities to students who continue to submit clean drug tests. Membership is completely voluntary and is open to the general student population at CVHS. All members must submit to an initial drug test.

Tennis
Tennis develops character and instills a positive competitive spirit. Players are able to participate and advance their skill in a lifetime activity.

Gymnastics
gymnastics is a serious athletic endeavor that builds strength, flexibility, endurance and character. Gymnasts can be an all around competitor or an individual event specialist. Girls who are creative, can dance, can tumble and want to develop the above attributes may try out.
Gymnastics is a cut sport fielding varsity and junior varsity teams. The junior varsity competes at the same time as the varsity on the same apparatus.

Tolo Dance- a dance that the girls ask the boys to.

The Homecoming Dance- a dance typically the night after the Homecoming football game.

Mixer dance- a social dance setting that involves changing partners. Mixers allow dancers to meet new people.

Winter Formal- like the name suggests, its a Formal dance held in the winter.

Senior Prom- A dance held for seniors to celebrate the last year of high school.

Volunteer work

All students Are required to give back to the community
students are required to do voluntary work for the community. 5 hours must be completed each year for a total of 20 hours to pass advisory requirement. If a student does not meet year's quota they are given 2 hours in addition. Seniors can't graduate with out the service. Central Valley High School believes that giving back to the community is very important and wants all students to learn these skills in service learning.

The Booster Club is a service to help support the people of the CVHS community

As the student and staff support group of Central Valley High School, the Central Valley Bear Boosters Club (CVBBC) works to provide resources and opportunities to its students, staff and families.

to be a member all you have to do is fill out a CVBBC Membership Form and give a member fee.
