EARLY LIFE/CHILDHOOD

  • His family was extremely poor
  • He dropped out of school at seventh grade to help his mother work
  • Served in the navy for two years

GRAPE STRIKE

  • 1965-1970
  • César chávez fought to get reasonable wages for farmers
  • Known as delano grape strike

NFWA

  • César chávez co-founded the nfwa
  • Nfwa lead a boycott on California grapes

PERSONAL LIFE

  • Chávez loved his family, he had a wife and 8 children
  • He believed in animal rights and was a vegan
  • He was a Roman Catholic
