  • He achieved fame by founding the national farm workers association in 1962 and called for a national boycott and brought awareness to danger to the workers health
  • He contributed to society by leading a 5 year strike against California grape growers in demand for higher wages in 1965
  • In 1991 he was awarded the Aztec eagle , mexicos highest award presented to people of mexica heritage
