CH 13 PROJECT

The Haymarket Riot:
It occurred on May 1, 1886 in Chicago.Workers were striking for 8 hours when replacements were brought in. Fighting then broke out between people and the police killing many on both sides.

The Pullman Strike:
It happened in the spring and summer of 1894. The strike happened because Pullmans company tried to decrease wages and increase the rent. Later stopping after President Glover Cleveland was forced to interfere because it was messing with mail delivery. Therefore, there were no gains coming from the strike.
