• Everything is made up of atoms 

John Dalton

• Found the atomic weights 
• Hypothesized that structure compounds can be ratios
• Also thought that atoms could not be created or destroyed
• He did a lot of experiments to prove that atoms did create everything

J.J. Thompson

• Discovered the electron 
• Creates the "plum-pudding" model
• Also discovered potassium 
• Discovered the first subatomic partical

Ernest Rutherford

• Known as Father Of Nuclear Physics 
• First to say you could split atoms 
• Said how atoms had a nucleus 
• Also said how the atom have their charge kept in the nucleus

JAmes Chadwick

• Discovered the Neutron 
• Worked on the Manhattan Project 
• Studied with Ernest Rutherford
• He helped build the atomic bomb 

Neils Bohr

• Made many contributions to the quantum theory 
• Thought that electrons orbited the nuclues
• Also said that electrons can jump from atoms
• Said that properties moved as a wave

Erwin Shordinger

• Created the Wave Equation 
• His model includes wave functions
• Says that the electron is a wave
• Model says where the electron might be
