Migration

  • seasonal movement of animals from one region to another.
  • movement from one part of something to another.
  • Ex: The migration patterns of birds are quite interesting

Push Factor

  • A force or reason that drives humans away
  • Ex: The push factor of Greenland was all the ice

Pull factor

  • A factor that draws people toward the location
  • Ex: The pull factor of Dallas was all of the new jobs

Social Factors

  • The factors that influenced the person's personality, attitude, and lifestyle
  • Ex: Sam is nice because his parents are nice

Ethnic Persecution

  • the hostility, abuse or violence against an individual based on their perceived ethnicity
  • Ex: John beat up Sam because he thought he was Native American

Religious persecution

  • The persecution of people based on their religion
  • Ex: When Hitler killed the Jews, that was religious persecution

Environmental Factors

  • Any factor, abiotic or biotic, that influences living organisms.
  • Ex: The environmental factors of the war were the mountains

physical barriers

  • Physical obstacles that hinder people with physical disabilities from gaining access
  • Ex: The physical barriers of the office were the stairs and the absence of elevators

  • Between 1845 and 1852, it reduced the population of Ireland by 25%
  • Ex: The Irish Potato Famine was caused by the failure of the potato crop

Poverty

  • The state of being extremely poor
  • Ex: The people in poverty live off barely anything

  • Ex: Many people took part in the Atlantic Slave Trade to gain money
