Define:
People who bought large amounts of land in hopes of making profits. Sentence: Carolina, Geneva, Pompeii, and Rome were towns founded by land speculators.

Circuit Riders
Define:
Traveling preachers, typically served regions on the frontier.
Sentence: circuit riders traveled to their areas on a regular basis to preach and to provide religious support to the settlers.

Define:
Schools that offered classes at the high school level.
Sentence: Some towns built academies.

Denomination
Define:
Organized religious groups with similar beliefs.
Sentence: The Methodist Church was the largest denomination, followed by the Baptist Church.
