Function

-It's a special relationship where each input has a single output.

Domain

-All the values that go into a function.

Range

-All the output values of a function or the difference between the lowest and the highest values.

Linear Equation

-An equation that makes a straight line when it is graphed. often written as y=mx+b.

Dependent Variable

-A variable that depends on one or more other variables. In y=mx+b, y is a dependent variable.

Independent Variable

-A variable in an equation that may have its value freely chosen without considering values of any other variable.

Slope

-How steep a straight line is. To find the slope of the line in the graph the equation is rise/run.

Point Slope Form

y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )

Slope Intercept Form

y = mx + b

Vertical Line Test

-A test use to determine if a relation is a function.

X-intercept

-Where the graph crosses the x-axis.

Y-intercept

-Where a straight line crosses the y-axis of a graph.
