INHALE

  • To breathe in
  • To smell any odors in your surrounding

LUNGS

  • Lungs are the main organs of the respiratory system
  • They are a pair of spongy, air-filled organs located on either side of the chest
  • They are covered by a thin tissue layer called the pleura
  • Right and left lung, they fill with ceir when you inhale

EXHALE

  • To breathe out
  • To blow out air

DIAPHRAGM

  • A flat muscle that controls breathing
  • Is the primary muscle used in the process of inspiration, or inhalation
  • A large, flat sheet of muscle that pulls air into the lungs and pushes out air

CAPILLARY

  • A tiny blood vessel
  • They measure around 5-10 micrometers in diameter

ALVEOLI

  • Thin-walled air sacs within the lungs
  • The main function of the alveoli is the exchange of carbon dioxide for oxygen in the lungs
  • Small, thin sacs at the end of bronchus where gas exchange happen ( oxygen --------> co2)

DIFFUSION

  • The movement of particles from areas with high concentrations to areas with low concentrations
