CHAPTER 5- COMING HOME

TOGETHER AGAIN

• Kao, Tang, Mrs.Chang are going back to Laos to see family
• They had to end their trip by walking to their final destination
• Things have changed since the Communists took over

A WISH TO RETURN

• 10,000 Hmong visit Laos every year
• They come home to visit family who stayed after the war and to learn their history
• Some of the people who left because of the was were still babies
• Some Hmongs lost parents however hope to meet other relatives
• There have been times where Hmong go to live in southeast Aisa

THE STRUGGLE CONTINUES

• Many children instead of going to school work in the fields
• Life is still hard for the Hmong that live in southeast Aisa

LIVING ON TOURISM

• A lot of Hmong in Southeast Asia make a living on tourism

HMONG CELIBRATION

• Hmong new year is a time of new beginnings
• Many people want to see Hmong new year
• During Hmong new year people dress in homemade clothing

THE MONG'S LONG JOURNEY

• At one time the Hmong people lived in the mountains of China
• You can find Hmong all around the world now
• Hmong that life in the US are trying to save their culture
• Some Hmong mainly elder ones have a hard time fitting in
