CULTURAL REGION

  • the aspects of culture associated with an ethnolinguistic group and territory
  • The cultural regions of the United States include ones that are different.

Functional Regions

  • a region that retains specific characteristics within an area
  • The functional regions of Africa include the Southern Region.

Perceptual Regions

  • they way a person views or feels about a region
  • The perceptual region of Texas is sometimes "don't they ride horses to school?"

LANGUAGE

  • the method of human communication, either spoken or written
  • The languages varied in their country.

RELIGION

  • the belief in and worship of a god or gods
  • Their religion included many specific rituals that they practiced.

GOVERNMENT

  • the governing body of a nation, state, or community
  • The government was corrupt and their leaders were horrible.

EDUCATION

  • the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, esp. at a school
  • Their education system was very good; their graduation rate was high too.

CUSTOMS

  • a way of thinking, behaving, or doing something that has been used by the people in a particular group
  • Their customs were very traditional and they liked to keep it that way.f
