CULTURE REGION

  • A cultural region or cultural sphere refers to the aspects of culture associated with an ethnolinguistic group and the territory it inhabits.
  • "The culture region of the Middle East is very diverse and different from the United States."

FUNCTIONAL REGION

  • A functional region can be defined as a region that retains specific characteristics within a given geographical area.
  • "New York is a functional region."

PERCEPTUAL REGION

  • Perceptual regions are constructs that reflect human feelings and attitudes about areas and are therefore shared, subjective images of places.
  • "People have a bad idea of Detroit because of what they have head. Detroit is a perceptual region."

LANGUAGE

  • the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way.
  • "French is a language spoken in the country of French."

RELIGION

  • the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, esp. a personal God or gods.

Government
